Savings for your patients
Research shows that a person's oral health may have an impact on his or her overall health. This may be especially true for people who have certain medical conditions. That is why we offer 100% reimbursement of copayments and coinsurance on certain dental procedures for customers with specific medical conditions.* We also offer guidance on behavioral issues that impact oral health.
What dental procedures do eligible patients receive savings on?
To determine the procedures for which your Cigna Dental insured patients may qualify for a reimbursement of copayments or coinsurance from Cigna Dental, refer to the table below.* Unless noted, dental plan age and frequency limitations apply.
Which of my patients are eligible to participate in the program?
Most Cigna Dental customers are eligible for program participation, regardless of their medical carrier. The only requirements are that they must have one of the medical conditions listed below and be registered for the program prior to receiving treatment. The registered medical condition determines what expanded benefits are available. Your patient can confirm eligibility by calling customer service at 1.800.Cigna24 (1.800.244.6224).
- Cardiovascular disease or stroke
- Diabetes
- Maternity
- Chronic kidney disease
- Organ transplant
- Head and neck cancer radiation
How do I get paid?
Follow the same procedure you normally would. Bill the patient according to his or her plan after performing the covered procedure. Bill Cigna Dental Care® plan participants for their copay and DPPO plan participants for their coinsurance. Provide your patient with an itemized receipt, as you usually do for any covered dental service you provide. Then submit your claim to Cigna Dental.
How does a patient get reimbursed?
Your patient must complete the online Cigna Dental Oral Health Integration Program Registration Form on the myCigna website/app or this paper form and mail the completed form to Cigna at the address listed. The form is also available on myCigna and Cigna.com or by calling the number on the ID card. Once registered, your patient will simply visit your office and pay the usual copayment or coinsurance amount for the covered procedure. Cigna automatically sends the reimbursement to the patient within 30 days.
Can I tell my patients about the program?
Yes, we encourage dentists to ask patients about their medical conditions to see if they are eligible for the program. We recommend that you keep copies of the customer flyer and the Cigna Dental Oral Health Integration Program Registration Form so that you may provide them to eligible customers.
